After I finished the doll and her little wardrobe, she seemed to need a little playmate of her own! So I made her a dolly of her very own, complete with a tiny hand-stitched cradle, a soft, wool stuffed pillow and her very own knitted blanket, made to match the big doll's knitted shawl. I think she was pretty pleased with her tiny new playmate. To hold the big doll's shawl on, I thought she needed a pretty little shawl pin, so I made her one. It is topped with shiny little glass beads, very big-girlish in style we think!

DeleteOh, how gorgeous! I went to look at your Etsy shop and it appears to be empty. Are you still planning on making dolls to sell?
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel! Thanks for the sweet comment! At the moment my Etsy shop is empty. I am hoping to be able to add a few new dolls in time for Christmas and before this baby is born. "Hoping" being the operative word! Lots to do between now and then!!

I love your doll's shawl. I have just recently started knitting doll clothes for children of single parents in the area. I would love to make a bit larger version of your shawl for them. Would you be willing to sell the pattern? Cheers from Canada, Terry
ReplyDeleteHi Terry! I don't have the pattern to sell you! I would give it to you if I could, but honestly I can't remember exactly what pattern I used. I looked in my Ravelry lists, and couldn't find this one. If I remember right I searched for a doll's shawl pattern on Ravelry, and found this one. I remember making a few changes, like casting on a couple more stitches than called for in the pattern and used a heavier yarn and larger needle size. I'm not sure, but I think this pattern was originally published for a Blythe type doll, so maybe that will help you in your search. I do remember choosing this one because of the pretty scalloped bind off edge. Hope that helps! Hugs~Rachel
