Wandering about town

On Tuesday we went wandering about town with some friends. We explored the Knoxville Botanical Garden. (Most of the garden pictures where taken by Logan!)

When we had finished exploring the Garden, our friends had to go home. So we wandered over to the park and some of our favorite fountains to cool off a bit.
Claire slept while I sat in under a big shade tree and watched the boys run wild through the fountains, once she woke up from her nap we headed across the street to the park.

Watching her brothers spin around up in the air!

Walking Tall

A few days ago Rodrigo and the boys built stilts. It only took them a few minutes to whip them up! The kids have spent hours stalking around the yard, falling off and getting right back up again! I love that they enjoy playing such simple, classic toys so much.

And in other news :) A first for my little blog! (Well it is my second I think, but the real "first" time I got a blog award, something came up here at home and I didn't post for almost three weeks after that, so it seemed rather silly to mention it here after such a long time had passed!)

Sarah over at The Forest Room sent me The Versatile Blogger Award. Thanks Sarah!
And since she didn't follow the "rules" I guess that gives me permission to not follow them either! So I'm not going to post 7 things about myself, but I'll share a few links of blogs I enjoy reading! Of course be sure to check out Sarah's blog, she always has lots of cool stuff going on over there!

A small change in the air

For the past week or so I've noticed a change in the air when I wake up. It's just the tiniest change right now, but there is something about how it feels when I step outside first thing in the morning that says "Summer is ending, Autumn is just around the corner!" A certain fresh, coolness that wasn't there just a week ago. I love Autumn. Those cool crisp nights and the bright sunshiny days, apple picking, changing leaves, Fall Festivals, pumpkins, sweaters, fresh new notebooks and school starting. What's not to love about all of that? I always get excited when I notice those first tiny signs of Autumn. Every morning is a cause to celebrate that change is coming (even if by mid-afternoon summer is back in full force!)

Today the new Autumn edition of Rhythm of the Home came out! Be sure to check it out, it's brimming full of goodies, beautiful pictures, tutorials, interviews, recipes and so much more!

I'm especially excited to share my little piece for this edition:

This issue marks the completion of the first year for Rhythm of the Home magazine. I have enjoyed each seasonal issue so much, we have tried many new things discovered in its virtual pages.

I hope you enjoy the magazine as much as I do! It's been a great source of inspiration.
